JASPER, Ga. – Dawson County cut the Pickens lead to four with 4:13 to play, but a 79-yard touchdown seconds later gave the Dragons a 34-23 win Friday night in Region 6-3A play.

Gunner Weaver ran the ball in from 14 yards out that trimmed the lead to 27-23. Pickens got the ball back and Tanner Bail found McCord Purdy for a 79-yard touchdown pass that gave the Dragons the final margin.

Weaver finished the night 31-for-40 for 319 yards and a touchdown to go with 42 yards on the ground with the 14-yard touchdown.

Dawson will host GAC next week.
