Two people were seriously injured after a single vehicle wreck Monday in White County, and the driver in that incident is facing charges.

Jimmy Adrian Byron Alexander Pruitt, 21, of Cleveland is charged with driving under the influence, two counts of serious injury by vehicle, and failure to maintain lane after the wreck on Asbury Mill Road west of Cleveland.

The wreck happened about 4:30 p.m. near Ga. 115.  Pruitt was driving an SUV north on Asbury Mill Road when the vehicle traveled off the west shoulder of the road, according to the Georgia State Patrol.

The SUV struck several trees, ejecting the two passengers from the vehicle.

The state patrol identified the passengers as Jeremy Ryan Goddard, 24, of Murphy, N.C., and Ishmen Mandingo Dorsey, 23, of Sautee-Nacoochee. Both were seriously injured.

Pruitt initially refused treatment on the scene but was transported to a hospital for treatment after being placed under arrest.

Pruitt was booked at the White County Detention Center on Tuesday and released from jail after posting a $6,500 bond.

GSP said the investigation is open and ongoing.
