Hillside Memorial Chapel announces the death of Mr. Paul James of Clarkesville, who died at Gateway Health in Cleveland Tuesday, June 17, 2008 following an extended illness.

Survivors include his wife, Martha Nell Chambers James of Clarkesville; son, Charles Newton James, Clarkesville; sisters, Grace Grogan, Braselton, Georgia; Pat Patterson, Gillsville, Georgia; niece, Helen Seabolt, Clarkesville; and many nieces and nephews.

Mr. James was preceded in death by his brothers, Jesse Harold James; Fred James; Bill James; Edwin James, and John James.

Paul was a native of Clarkesville, Georgia. He served in the United States Army during World War II; and was retired from Habersham Mill where he worked in the carding department. Mr. James and his wife had been married for 53 loving years.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, June 20, 2008 at Hillside Memorial Chapel with Reverend Charles Morrison and Reverend Marvin Beasley officiating. Burial will follow at Alley's Chapel cemetery.

The family will receive friends and loved ones at Hillside Memorial Chapel in Clarkesville, Georgia from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM Thursday, June 19, 2008.
