John Henry Means, 75

John Henry Means, age 75, of Clarkesville, died Saturday, October 04, 2003 at the Regional Medical Center in Aiken, S.C.

Born in Henderson County, NC on April 16, 1928, Mr. Means was a son of the late Asa P. Means and Frances Blanche Garrison Means. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sue Holcomb Means; son, Kerry Means; sisters, Edna Holder, Aileen McJunkin; brothers, Charles Means and Bill Means. Mr. Means was a retired brick mason and was a United States Army Korean War veteran.

Survivors include sister, Mattie Kessler, Delville, AL; brothers, Joe Means, Mount Airy; and Samuel Means, Greensboro, NC.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, October 08, 2003 from Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel, with Reverend Michael Baker officiating. Burial will follow in Yonah Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7:00 to 9:00 PM Tuesday, October 07, 2003.
