Memorial Park Funeral Home announces the death of Othor "O.L." Mangum, 92, of Harmony Church Road, Gainesville.

Services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 23, 2003, at Harmony Hall Baptist Church for

The body will lie in state at the church from 10:30 to 11 a.m.

The Rev. Ben Hatfield and the Rev. James Morgan will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Mr. Mangum died Sunday, Dec. 21, 2003, at New Horizons North Nursing Home following a brief illness.

Mr. Mangum was born in Hall County, where he lived all his life. He was the son of the late Lonnie H. Mangum Sr. and Florence Fleming Mangum. He was retired from the U.S. Postal Service after 37 years of service. He was a farmer. He also had driven a school bus for the Hall County Board of Education.

In 1950, he began Mangum's Grocery & Service Station, where he continued to work until after his 92nd birthday. He also was preceded in death by his wife, Cora Bell Mangum; son, Don Mangum; daughters, Louise Mangum and Ann Dickerson; brothers, Guy Mangum and L.H. Mangum Jr.; and sister, Inez Ellison.

Survivors include his grandson and wife, John and Cheryl Dickerson, Gainesville; great-granddaughters, Holly Dickerson, Mallory Dickerson, and Lindsey Dickerson, all of Gainesville; sister, Sarah Kent, Gibson; brother, Horace Mangum, Forest Park; relatives by marriage, grandsons and wives, Mike and Wanda McKinney, Bogart, and Ronny and Debbie McKinney, Orlando, Fla.; granddaughter, Ann McKinney Guest, Nashville, Tenn.; sister-in-law, Catherine Mangum, Gainesville; and a number of nieces, nephews and great-grandchildren.
