Joe Edwards Ross, 52

Joe Edward Ross, 52, of Gainesville died Thursday at Northeast Georgia Health System following an extended illness.

Born in White County, he was the son of the late Herbert P. Dorsey. He attended Fair Street Elementary School and graduated from Butler High School in 1969. While attending Gainesville Junior College he was called into the U.S. Army and served for 21 years.

Survivors include his mother, Betty Jo Ross, Gainesville; brothers, Richard L. Ross, Gainesville, and Chandler E. Ross, Oakwood; and sister, Leslie Kim Ross, Gainesville.

The family will receive friends all day Monday at the funeral home.

Funeral services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 27, 2004, at Willie B. Young Memorial Chapel. The Rev. Rene· Slater will officiate. Burial will be in Calvary Memorial Gardens.
