Callie Mae Willis, 99

Mrs. Callie Mae (Williams) Willis, age 99, passed away Wednesday October 11,2006 at New Horizon's North Nursing Home following an extended illness.

Funeral services are scheduled for 1:00 pm Sunday October 15, 2006 at St. John Baptist Church in Gainesville with interment to follow in Alta Vista Cemetery. Pastor Eugene Green will officiate. Visitation will be all day Friday, October 13, 2006; and the family will meet and greet family and friends from 7 until 9 pm Saturday October 14, 2006 at the funeral home.

Mrs. Willis was born in Wilkes County in 1906 to the late Robert Williams and Ella Mae (Carter) Williams. She worked at Northeast Georgia Medical Center for many years. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Robert James Willis, Sr. and son, Robert James Willis, Jr.

Mrs. Willis is survived by her daughters, Annie K. Barnett, Elberton; Elizabeth Maddox, Gainesville; Alma (Leroy) Harper, Gainesville; Frances (Johnny) Hollis, Atlanta; Christine Hickman, Decatur; Marion (Jerry) Thurmond; and Betty (Billy) Waller, also of Gainesville; and sons, Benjamin (Ann) Willis, Elberton; Albert Willis, Gainesville; and Wilburt Willis also of Gainesville; many grandchildren; great-grandchildren; great-great-grandchildren; and a very large extended family and friends.
