Lee Edward Ellenburg, 61

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m., Monday, December 11, 2006 at the First Presbyterian Church of Gainesville for Mr. Lee Edward Ellenburg, 61, of Gainesville. Interment will follow in the Baldwin City Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday, December 10, 2006 from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Little-Davenport Funeral Home. Mr. Ellenburg died Friday, December 8, 2006 at his residence following a brief illness.

Mr. Ellenburg was born January 1, 1945 in Rabun County to Roy Lee and Mary Ann Thompson Ellenburg. He is also preceded in death by his father.

Mr. Ellenburg graduated from North Habersham High School in 1963 and then graduated from the University of Georgia in 1968. Following graduation he served his country in the U. S. Army during Vietnam. After returning home he completed his CPA Licensing and went into private practice. He practiced publicly until 1985 at which time he went to work for Gress Foods, now Koch Foods. Mr. Ellenburg worked for Koch Foods for over 21 years and was currently the Chief Financial Officer.

Survivors include his wife of 39 years: Cheryl Chandler Ellenburg, daughters and son-in-law: Julie Shannon Ellenburg and John Wesley "Tripp" Wingate III, Joanna Susan Ellenburg and Jennifer Suzanne Ellenburg, all of Gainesville, granddaughter: Lindsey Ellenburg "Ellie" Wingate of Gainesville, mother: Mary Anne Thompson Ellenburg, sisters and brother-in-law: Rebecca Ellenburg Lovell, Joan Ellenburg and Chip Saville, brother: Larry Ellenburg, all of Clarksville, other relatives and loving friends.
