Bobby Joe Barrett, age 76 of Alto, died Monday January 22, 2007 at his residence following an extended illness.
Born in White County on November 07, 1930, he was the son of the late Travis and Veatrice Smith Barrett. He was the owner and operator of Barrett's Sale Barn for thirty years. He was a member of B.C. Grant Baptist Church and enjoyed riding horses. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Billy Barrett.
Surviving are wife, Frances Freeman Barrett of Alto; daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and Ken Davis of Alto; sons and daughters-in-laws, David and Jo Dee Barrett of Gainesville and Chet and Vickie Barrett of Mt. Airy; brother, Tommy Lee Barrett and Rosetta Barrett of Alto; sister, Gwendolyn and Edwin Williams of Alto; sisters-in-laws, Charlie Mae and Thomas Glaze
of Cleveland, Ruth Barrett of Alto and Florine Shore of Alto; brother-in-laws, Lawrence and Dot Freeman of Gainesville, Russell and Barbara Freeman of Cleveland and J.B. and Joyce Freeman of Cornelia; he is also survived by four grandchildren, Tim, Kyle and Jessica Barrett and Harley Beth Davis.
Funeral services are 2:00PM Thursday, January 25, 2007, at B.C. Grant Baptist Church with Reverand Doyal Conley, and Pastor Anthony Stone officiating. Interment will follow in Yonah Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7-9PM on Tuesday and also from 2-4and 7-9PM on Wednesday. The family is at the residence.
