James Franklin Carlan, 74

James Franklin Carlan, age 74, of New Holland, Georgia passed away Sunday, January 28, 2007 at Dekalb Medical Center in Decatur, Georgia following an extended illness.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 pm Thursday, February 1, 2007 in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home with burial to follow in Alta Vista Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5-8 pm Wednesday, January 31, 2007 at the funeral home.
Mr. Carlan was born in Hall County to the late Jim Carlan and Annie (Sutton) Carlan. He was of the Baptist Faith. Mr. Carlan served in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He is preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, George Henry Carlan.
Survivors include his daughters, Ann Wininger, Athens; Linda Mize, Gainesville; and Darlene Carlan, Alto; brother, Jim Carlan, Alto; sisters, Lucy Staton, Gainesville; Daisy Frazier, Griffin; Ava Bea Maddox, Gainesville; and Sandra Carlan, Gainesville; 5 grandchildren; 11 great- grandchildren and several other relatives.
