Joseph Gerard Wolfort

Mr. Joseph Gerard Wolfort age 84 of Hayesville, North Carolina passed away on Thursday January 9, 2020 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center following a sudden illness.    

Funeral Mass will be held in Savanah, Ga and Decorah, Iowa honoring the life of Mr. Wolfort.

Joseph was born on May 27, 1935 in Manhattan, New York to the late Francis Gabriel Wolfort and Margaret Mary Maher Wolfort. He retired from Metro Dade County Psychological Services where he worked as a Clinical Psychologist and was of the Catholic faith. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, Jeanne Marie Kasper Wolfort and his brother, Dr. Francis G. Wolfort.

Joseph is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Kimberly Swanson (Greg) of Decorah, Iowa, daughter and son-in-law, Kathleen Taggart (Ian) of Savannah, Ga, grandchildren, John Patrick Hammel and Thomas Finn Hammel both of Decorah, Iowa, sister,. Anne Heck of Hiawassee, Ga and nephew, Mike Heck of Hiwassee, Ga.
