Lydia "Gail" Ledford Stancil

Mrs. Lydia "Gail" Ledford Stancil, age 65 of Fernside Drive, Toccoa passed away Monday, January 6, 2020 at her home.

A daughter of the late Howard LeRoy Ledford and Eva Mae Hooper Ledford, she was born in Rabun County, Georgia on February 28, 1954.  She lived most of her life in Stephens County with her loving husband Carol D. Stancil. Gail had a passion and love for her flowers and gardening. She loved her family and grandchildren and is now with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Survivors include her husband, Carol D. Stancil of the home; sons and daughters-in-law, Dave and Ashley Stancil of Toccoa and Brad and Kay Stancil of Central South Carolina; She loved her grandchildren, Clint Stancil and Luke Stancil (grandsons) and Zara McLaughlin (step-granddaughter).  Other survivors include two brothers, Larry Ledford and Howard Ledford, Jr. and four sisters, Martha Hazel, Katherine Ledford, Virginia Frankum and Liz Sugg all of Habersham County.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Eugene Ledford and by four sisters, Helen Lewis, Carol Black, Wanda Pittman and Brenda Smith.

Funeral services will be Friday, January 10, 2020, 2 O'clock p.m. at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Turnerville with The Reverend Dr. Wayne Edwards officiating. The body will lie in state at the church from 1:15 p.m. until the service time where the family will receive friends.

The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers and should assemble at the church by 1:15 p.m., Coty Sugg, Stanley Frankum, Chris Vaughn, Bryan Gordon, Dean Burton and Mark Frankum

The family will receive friends at the Acree-Davis Funeral Home on Thursday from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.acree-davisfh.com.

Interment will follow in the Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery with the Acree-Davis Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements for Mrs. Lydia "Gail" Stancil.
