Eugene Corpening

Mr. Eugene Corpening, age 81, of Davidson Cove Lane in Toccoa passed away Monday, April 9, 2018 at the home.

A son of the late Robert and Thelma Greenwood Corpening, he was born December 29, 1936 in Macon County, North Carolina. He lived for most of his life in Toccoa. Mr. Corpening was a veteran of the United States Air Force and was employed as a truck driver with Tugalo Gas Company for several years. He was later self employed doing maintenance and mechanic work for various businesses. He loved his great grandchildren. They were very special to him. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Kenneth Corpening, daughter, Wanda Pierce, grandson, Stephen Pierce, and by a sister, Shirley Corpening.

He is survived by his wife, Ova Ledford Corpening of the home, three granddaughters and spouses, Karri and Mickey Corpening, Kelly and Alen Vandiver, and Vanessa and Shane Pierce, two grandsons, Matthew Lake and Richard Pierce, great grandchildren, Remington Corpening, Daysha Vandiver, Alli Vandiver, and Nathan Finney, by a sister and brother-in-law, Betty and Doug Justice, and by a son-in-law, Ricky Pierce.

The family is planning on having a private memorial service for Mr. Corpening at a later date.
