William Author "Papa" Green

Mrs. William Author “Papa” Green, 83, of Gainesville passed away August 8, 2017.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m.  Friday, August 11, 2017 in the chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home.  Rev. Phil Carpenter and Rev. Clyde Self will officiate. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Memorial Park Funeral Home on Thursday, August 19, 2017 from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. and from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.

Born on December 24, 1933 in Gainesville, Georgia Mr. Green was a veteran of the U.S. Army. Mr. Green was retired from Harris Door and Drawer where he was a cabinet maker.  Mr. Green was of the Baptist faith.

Mr. Green is preceded in death by his wife, Dicie Burton Green; sisters, Rita Johnson, Louise Mooney; brother, Junior Green; daughter, Dicie Maxine Davis and grandson, Jerry Davis.

Mr. Green is survived by his sons, Carl Terry Flanagan, Clinton Alan Flanagan; grandchildren, Lee Jackson and Chantel Lee Davis Weaver; great grandchildren, Dillon Andrew Dial, Dicie Taylor Davis, Mary Elizabeth Weaver and Sadie Grace Davis and many beloved suto grandchildren. He was Papa to all.
