Evans Funeral Home announces the death of Mr. Lloyd Daniel Craven, age 84, of Pendergrass, who passed away on Wednesday, September 16, 2015. Mr. Craven was born in Banks County, Georgia, a son to the late Thomas and Eunice Cody Craven. Mr. Craven was a retired Inspector with the USDA and was a Cattle Farmer. In addition to his parents, Mr. Craven is preceded by a daughter, Sherry Craven Bird; brother; Herman Craven and a sister; Evelyn Smith. Mr. Craven was a member of the Talmo Baptist Church, Past Master of Johnnie’s Hill Masonic Lodge, and was the former Chief and member of North Jackson Fire Department. Mr. Craven was Instrumental in the gymnasium construction at North Jackson Elementary School where he worked with the youth and raised money hosting skating events for the initial construction costs.
Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Betty Gee Craven of Pendergrass, son Mike Craven and his wife Patsy of Gainesville, grandchildren, Daniel Craven and his wife Paige, Heather Craven Stancil, Sheri Castillo and her husband Ramon all of Pendergrass, great grandchildren, Savannah and Paul Stancil, Serenity and Ramon Jr. Castillo, Tyler and Paris Craven, sisters, Elinor Brooks of Pendergrass, Edith Beatty, Gainesville and Rita Hilton of Commerce. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, September 19, 2015 at 2:00 pm in the Talmo Baptist Church with Rev. Mark Spence officiating and Mr. Clelle Kinney delivering the eulogy. The burial with Masonic Rites will follow in the Talmo Baptist Church Cemetery with Mr. Craven’s nephews honored as pallbearers. The visitation will be held on Friday evening from 2-4 and 6-8pm at Evans Funeral Home.
