Rowanda “Wanda” Rouse Pruitt, 82, of Dawsonville passed away Monday April 20, 2015 following an extended illness.
Mrs. Pruitt was born April 2, 1933 to the late Luther and Mattie Rouse. A resident of Dawsonville for the past 16 years, she spent most of her life in Doraville where she raised her family. For a number of years she worked as a secretary for the Georgia Forestry Commission in Gainesville. She enjoyed antiquing and flea marketing alongside her late husband and at one time she had her own booth at the Dixie 400 Flea Market in Forsyth County. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Judge Rider, and husband, Eugene Pruitt.
Surviving are her daughters and son-in-law, Norma Lee, Sugar Hill, Pam Smith, Ball Ground, Gena and Bart Hail, Ball Ground; sisters and brothers-in-law, Louise Peterson, Etowah, TN, Charlotte Phillips, Dahlonega, Marie and L.J. Justus, Dahlonega, Dianne and Larry King, Dahlonega, Lana Sue and Ronald McDonald, Dahlonega; brother, Guy Rouse, Dawsonville; grandchildren, Scott, Carey, Paxton, Paige; great-grandchildren, Camerin, Claire, Colben, Tristan, Chase, Karson; a number of nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Memorial services will be held Wednesday April 22, 2015 at 2 o’clock at Bearden Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Michael Rodgers will officiate.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 12 noon until the service hour.
