Lela Maudell Norrell

Mrs. Lela M. Norrell, age 87, of Gainesville passed away in her home surrounded by family on December 24, 2014 following an extended illness.

Lela was born in White County, December 27, 1926, to Hubert Franklin Turner Sr. and Fannie Mae Albertson Turner. She was a lifelong resident of Hall County and attended Dewberry Baptist Church No. 1. She worked 15 years with Georgia Broilers, was a homemaker, a Servant of the Lord, a friend to everyone and a mama to all who needed her. She loved traveling, cooking, gardening, and spending time with her family.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Hugh Norrell "Hook"; six sisters, Nellie Beck, Lessie Boling, Cora Smith, Cleo Long, Bessie Lou Wilkie, and Ramie Black; two brothers, George Turner and Hubert Franklin Turner Jr.

Survivors include: daughter, Helen Brady; Son-in-law, Winfred Brady; two sons, Tommy Boling and Clifford Boling; sister, Lena Mae Abernathy; brother, Stanley Turner; two granddaughters, Cassandra McDaniel and Sarah Brady; two great granddaughters, Cadence McDaniel and Faith Miller, and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. She will also be missed by Chloe, her loyal companion.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, December 28, 2014 at Ward's Funeral Home and will be officiated by Rev. Scott Grizzle and Rev. Mike Grizzle. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Ward's Funeral Home on Friday, December 26 and Saturday, December 27, 2014 from 5:00-8:00 p.m.
