​Emory (Leon) Martin, Sr.

​Emory "Leon" Martin, Sr., 92, of Chestnut Mountain, passed away December 24, 2014 following a period of declining health.

Born on December 17, 1922 in Cumming, Ga. he was the son of the late Daniel Leslie and Myrtle Castleberry Martin.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister, Eloise Propes.

God and Family were Mr. Martin's priority. He was a member of Blackshear Place Baptist Church for 45 years. He was a World War II Veteran having served in the Army. He was employed with Johnson & Johnson for over 40 years as a maintenance supervisor. Mr. Martin was a member of the Flowery Branch Masonic Lodge #212 for over 50 years.

Mr. Martin is survived by his wife of 74 years, Blanche Martin; sons and daughters in law, Emory and Sandra Martin, Brad and Judy Martin; grandsons and wives, Brian and Tina Martin, Matt and Lisa Martin, Spence and Shanna Martin, Joey and Jill Martin; great grandsons, Rylee Martin, Tyler Crane, Cody Martin, Noah Martin, Mason Martin, Dawson Martin; great granddaughters, Lexie Martin, Blakely Martin all of Chestnut Mountain; sister, Margaret Turk of Cleveland and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, December 28, 2014 in the chapel of Little & Davenport Funeral Home. Rev. Darin Vogt, Rev. Phil Carpenter, and Rev. Dick Shorr will officiate. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, December 27, 2014 from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. and from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
