Lois Ellen Gilstrap Miller

Lois Ellen Gilstrap Miller, age 83, of Dahlonega, GA passed away Thursday, October 2, 2014 at her home following an extended illness.

She was a lifelong resident of Lumpkin County and a homemaker. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother, and a sweet, gentle soul to all who knew her. She was of the Baptist Faith.

Lois was the daughter of the late Dillard and Martha Hampton Gilstrap, and is also preceded in death by her husband, Willis Miller; son-in-law, Ken Lollis; sisters and brothers-in-law, Mae and Claude Ferguson, Inez and Glenn Head; sisters-in-law, Frances Gilstrap and Nancy Gilstrap; and brother-in-law, John Thompson.

She is survived by her daughter, Margie Lollis; sons, James and Archie Miller, all of Dahlonega, GA;
sisters, Ruby Gilstrap, Dahlonega, GA, Opal Thompson, Gainesville, GA; brothers, Claude Gilstrap, Dahlonega, GA, Carlton Gilstrap, Oakwood, GA, J.C. Gilstrap, Dahlonega, GA; grandchildren, Heath and Kim Coleman, Cumming, GA, Heather and Wilburn Etheridge, Suches, GA; great grandchildren, Tiffany and Chad Fulton, Dakota, Rebecca, and Levi Etheridge, and Bryn and Ava Coleman. Several nieces and nephews and a number of other relatives also survive.

Funeral services for Lois are scheduled for 2 PM Sunday, October 5, 2014 at the Banister Funeral Home Chapel in Dahlonega.

Rev. Lyman Caldwell, Rev. Dave Fortner, and Rev. Michael Rodgers will officiate.

Interment will follow in the Bethlehem/ Jones Chapel Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at Banister Funeral Home in Dahlonega, GA from 4 PM until 9 PM on Saturday, October 4, 2014 and from 9 AM until time of service on Sunday, October 5, 2014.
