Shirley Cochran

Shirley Jeanette Newell Cochran, age 74 of Gainesville, passed away on Sunday, November 10, 2013 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center following a sudden illness.


Funeral services are scheduled for Wednesday, November 13, 2013 at 1:00 pm in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home with interment to follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Reverend Earl Jarrard will officiate. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, November 12, 2013 from 2 - 4 pm and 6 - 8 pm at the funeral home.


Mrs. Cochran was born February 26, 1939 in Gainesville, Georgia to the late Jack Andrew Newell and Lomie Leorie Corn Newell. She was a homemaker and of the Baptist Faith. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents and her brother-in-law, Benny F. Woodall.


Mrs. Cochran is survived by her husband, Clarence P. Cochran of Gainesville, daughter, Yuvonne Cochran of Gillsville, grandson, Michael Scotty Martinez of Gillsville, sister & brother-in-law, Betty Louise & Reverend Earl Jarrard of Gainesville, sister, Arrahwonah Woodall of Banks County and step-granddaughter, Kristan Carter of Florida.
