Mr. Richard Allen Whitten, age 65, of Flowery Branch, passed away Monday, January 11, 2010.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 pm Thursday, January 14, 2010 at Memorial Park South Funeral Home Chapel with interment to follow in Memorial Park South Cemetery. The Reverend Dugar Strickland will officiate. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm Wednesday, January 13, 2010 at the funeral home.
Mr. Whitten was born in Princeton, IN. He was a Tool and Die maker/machinist and taught Machine Shop for a short time at Lanier Technical College. He attended Free Chapel Worship Center until the time of his illness.
Mr. Whitten is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Donna (Brown) Whitten, Flowery Branch; parents, Doyle C. and Elouise R. Whitten, Gainesville; daughters and sons-in-law, Lisa Crawford, Flowery Branch; Dawn and Tony Thompson, Flowery Branch; son and daughter-in-law, Scott and Mylene Whitten, Duluth; daughter, Heather Whitten, Flowery Branch; grandchildren, Courtney, Bryson, Delaney, Emma, Max and Riley; brother and sister-in-law, Chad and Jane Whitten, Franklin, KY; sister and brother-in-law, Vanessa and Ronnie Bramble, Oakwood.
