Louise Dunlap Kesler, of Carnesville, Georgia, passed away on February 10, 2025, at the age of 94. Born on May 13, 1930, Louise exemplified the joys of life as a devoted homemaker and a cherished member of her community.
Throughout her life, Louise was deeply involved in her church, Nails Creek Baptist Church, where she contributed her time and passion in many capacities. Her commitment to her faith and her community was one her proudest accomplishments, reflecting a life of service and dedication.
Louise is survived by her loving daughter, Deborah (Chuck) Vickery. She cherished her grandchildren, including Chip and April Vickery, Amy and Benji Ward, and Daniel and Kayla Vickery. Additionally, she was blessed with numerous great-grandchildren: Hannah and Jacob Elrod, Corey Vickery, Eli Ward, Cohen Ward, Shayna Vickery, Micah Ward, Cobey Ward, Rylan Vickery, Dani Grace Vickery, and Kasen Ward, as well as a great-great grandchild, Evelyn Elrod.
Louise is preceded in death by her husband, Bruce Kesler, her parents Wheeler and Mamie F. Sizemore Dunlap, a daughter, Angela Kesler, and her siblings, including sisters Bertha Caudill, Elizabeth “Pete” Brown, Mildred Carter, and Daisey Blackburn, along with brothers Scott Dunlap and Hubert Dunlap.
A visitation to honor Louise’s life will be held on February 13, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Nails Creek Baptist Church located at 2743 Hwy. 51, Homer, GA 30547. Following the visitation, a funeral service will take place on February 14, 2025, at 2:00 PM, also at the church, concluding at 3:00 PM. Her body will lie in state from 1:00 PM until the funeral hour at the church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
