Kathleen “Kathy” Kennedy Haley

Kathleen “Kathy” Kennedy Haley, 78, left this earth Sunday, June 18, 2023 and was reunited with her first born, Karyn Lee Haley, after 43 years apart. Kathy was predeceased by her parents, Deane and Corinne Kennedy, daughter Karyn Haley, and father of her children, Kenneth Haley.

Kathy is survived by her daughters, Kristen Haley of Atlanta and Katie (Randy) Boswell of Gainesville, grandsons, Kenneth “Wil”fred Haley, Atlanta and Aiden Boswell, Gainesville,  brother, Richard (Anna) Kennedy and sister, Diane Tierney, nieces and nephews, Gina, Kevin, Justin, Michael, Cindy and Max, as well as sisters in law, Tina Kennedy and Vicky Pappakostis.

For many years, Kathy enjoyed leading Bible studies and being involved with women in the church and singing in the choir. Her love of reading inspired her to start libraries at Westminster Christian School, Montego Bay Christian Academy, and in her coffee shop, The Penny University. She loved to travel, especially with her grandson, Wil.

The family wishes to specifically thank the staff of Ashton Senior Living and the hospice nurses who have tended to her selflessly over the past 8 years. Their care and love for Kathy were evident daily.

Please join us for an informal gathering to celebrate Kathy’s life this Sunday, June 25th at Roper Park in Gainesville, Georgia, 3-5pm. Refreshments will be provided. Please dress comfortably and plan to enjoy fellowship with one another. At the conclusion of our time, we will release butterflies to celebrate her memory.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Gainesville Preparatory School, to provide a lasting legacy of Kathy’s love for Christian education.
