Cedric Lamar Cheeks

Cedric Lamar Cheeks was born October 9, 1970 in Gainesville, GA to the late Brelinda Cheeks Watson.  He was called home to be with the Lord on January 25, 2023. Cedric was preceded in death by his mother, father, and grandfather.

He attended Gainesville City Schools and he was of the Baptist faith.

Cedric enjoyed being with family and friends. He adored his children and talked about them continuously.  Although he was disabled and because of his support system, he was able to be with family and friends as much as he desired. 

He leaves to cherish his memories to his significant other, Angela Gillespie; daughters, Destiny Cheeks and Iyanna Cheeks; brothers, Larry Mario Watson and Eric Sherman; sisters, Melinda “Niki” Watson-Anderson, Jeanene Blake, Paula (Skeet) Hudson, and Mika (Rodney) Young; grandmother, Mrs. Henrietta Cummings; a special aunt, Angela “Auntie Ann” Bell (he enjoyed her special cakes); a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many other loved ones; and extended family and friends.

Funeral service will be held Thursday February 2, 2023 at 1pm at Dexter T. Sims Mortuary, LLC in The Rev. Charlie, Jr. and Conchita Sims Memorial Chapel. Viewing will be held Wednesday February 1, 2023 from 1pm-7pm.
