Janet Victoria Helms Rector

Mrs. Janet Victoria Helms Rector, 102, of Gillsville, GA, passed away Thursday, May 19, 2022 at Bell Minor Nursing Home.

Funeral Services will be held at 3:30 p.m. Monday, May 23, 2022, in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home.  Rev. Drewery Loggins will officiate.   Interment to follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at Memorial Park Funeral Home on Monday, May 23, 2022, from 1:30 p.m. until 3:30 p.m.

Born February 6, 1920 in Midland City, Alabama to the late Sylvester Leandy Helms and Lucy Thompson Helms.  She was a homemaker and was a member of Lebanon United Methodist Church.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Rector was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Roy Rector, Sr.; daughter, Virginia Rector Murphy; granddaughter, Sherry Ann Rector; brother, Howard Cecil Helms; sisters, Magnolia Madeline Helms Corbin, Virginia Carolina Helms and Francis Sylvester Helms.

Mrs. Rector is survived by her sons, Raymond Roy Rector, Jr. (Bobbie), John Andrew Rector, both of Gillsville, GA; daughter, Janet Susan Rector (David), Flowery Branch, GA; son-in-law, William H. Murphy (Jan), Pendergrass, GA .  Many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews also survive.
