Richard Herbert "Herb" Crain

Mr. Richard Herbert “Herb” Crain, 78, of Oakwood passed away Wednesday, May 6, 2020 at Pruitt Lanier Nursing Home after an extended illness.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 8, 2020 in Memorial Park Cemetery. Rev. Mark Smith and Rev. Stacy Phillips will officiate.

Born on April 13, 1942 in Greenville, SC, he was the son of the late William Theron “W.T.” and Veltra Hightower Crain. He was retired from Fieldale Farms with 28 years of service. Mr. Crain was a member of West Hall Baptist Church where he served faithfully for many years.

Mr. Crain is survived by his daughter, Jennifer Groover and husband, Chris; two grandsons, Garrett and Connor Diaz. He is also survived by his brother, Ken Crain and wife Evelyn. There are many nieces and nephews as well.
