A train fire in Commerce Thursday night shut down roadways for several hours, and no injuries were reported.
According to the Commerce Fire Department, the situation occurred at around 7 p.m. and was due to the locomotive’s mechanical issues. The fire was contained to the engine department.
Crews worked to put out the fire, and Norfolk Southern blocked off the intersection of SK Boulevard and Maysville Road.
Commerce Police Department and Commerce Fire Department responded to the scene.
