The Banks County Sheriff’s Office announced on their social media that they have received reports of individuals going door-to-door claiming to sell services, including pest control, or represent companies.

Some of these individuals may not be legitimate.

Ways to protect yourself include:

• If you feel unsure or uncomfortable, do not engage
• Call 911 immediately so deputies can respond and verify who they are
• Ask for identification before speaking further
• Never feel pressured to make an immediate purchase
• Do not sign any paper or electronic documents you do not fully understand
