James Elton King, 90
Young's Funeral Home announces the death of Mr. James Elton King, age 90, of Gainesville who died Tuesday, April 08, 2008 following an extended illness.
Mr. King was a compassionate and helpful man that was well-known in his community for repairing lawnmowers and cutting grass. He will truly be missed by all that knew him. Mr. King was preceded in death by one daughter, Vivian Smith and a brother, Morris King.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley King; sons, Marvin (Joann) King; Ulie B. King; James Mark (Denise) King; John King; Jerome King; daughters, Vicki King (Ronald) Malone; Lisa King Austin; Carol King; Sherry )Gerald) Cain; twenty-two grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; sister, Oma Lee Burney; special friends, Elbert Cheeks and David Cummings. A host of other relatives and friends also survive.
The family will receive friends at Young's Funeral Home from 7:00 PM until 8:00 PM Friday, April 11, 2008.
Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 AM Saturday, April 12, 2008 at St. John Baptist Church with Reverend Richard Haynes officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Memorial Gardens Cemetery. The body will lie in state from 10:00 AM until the hour of the service at 11:00 AM>
