James Floy Bullock, 82
Evans Funeral Home announces the death of Mr. James Floy Bullock, age 82, of Jefferson, Georgia,who passed away Thursday, July 26, 2007.
Mr. Bullock, a native of Chambers County (LaFayette), Alabama; was the son of the late James Floy Bullock, Sr., and Kate Bullock.
He was a retired manager of Engineering Services with Jackson EMC; and was a member of Unity Lodge No. 36; a member of the Masonic Order for over 50 years; and Past Master of the Reynolds, Georgia, Lodge 695.
Mr. Bullock was a member of Jefferson First Baptist church where he taught Sunday School for over 40 years; was former Chairman of the Board of Deacons; and member of many other committees.
He was a United States Army veteran of World WarII, Corp of Engineers, serving in Korea; an active member in the American Legion Post 56, adjutant for 10 years; a 1949 graduate of Auburn University, receiving a BSEE degree; was a member for 27 years of the Jefferson Rotary Club, and was a past president.
Mr. Bullock was a registered Professional Engineer in Georgia and Alabama.
Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Lou Ella Bullock, Jefferson; daughter and son-in-law, Beverly and Gary Clark, Gainesville; son, Glenn Bullock, Jefferson; sisters, Nell Rawls, Pensacola, Florida; Marianne Faulk, Pelham, Alabama; brother, John Bullock, Orange Beach, Alabama; granddaughters and grandsons-in-law, Mitzi Clark Dunagan and Mitchell, Cleveland, Georgia; Candice Clark Stewart and Ryan, of Dublin, Georgia; five great-grandchildren: Justin Dunagan, Brooks Teal, and Reagan Dunagan, of Cleveland, Georgia; Michaella Stewart and Michael Stewart, Dublin Georgia.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, July 29, 2007 from the Jefferson First Baptist Church with Dr. Cary Hiliard officiating. Interment will be in Jackson Memorial Park.
Serving as pallbearers will be Claudius Thurmond, Charles Sims, Tom Wilbanks, Fred Glass, Jack Cavender and Hal Puett.
In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to Jefferson First Baptist Church, Post Office Box 395, Jefferson, Georgia, 30549.
The family will receive friends at the Evans Funeral Home from 7:00 PM until 9:00 PM Saturday, July 28, 2007.
