Newsroom's Pet of the Month: Meet Belle!

Newsroom's first Pet of the Month is Belle, a one-year-old Beagle mix at the Humane Society of Northeast Georgia.

Belle is a sweet, loyal dog who comes across as shy at first, but will never leave your side once she warms up to you.

Her reserved demeanor is likely the result of her past. In December of last year, she and dozens of other dogs were rescued from horrible conditions in a hoarding case. Belle suffered from a severe skin condition at the time of her rescue, which took lots of care and some TLC from her foster home to get her back to full health.

As a result of this care, Belle has transformed from a terrified rescue afraid to come to the front of her pen into a kind lady ready to find her snuggle buddy. She does well with other dogs and people, although due to her shyness, a home with grown adults or older children may be best suited for her.

Belle is available for adoption at the Humane Society of Northeast Georgia. To learn how to meet her, visit the HSNEGA website.

On the first Thursday of every month, the Newsroom team will present a Pet of the Month available for adoption at either the Humane Society of Northeast Georgia or Hall County Animal Shelter. Tune it at 5 p.m. to hear Newsroom on WDUN FM 102.9 and AM 550.
