A Gainesville man convicted almost three weeks ago for the sexual assault of an 8-year-old girl will spend the rest of his life in prison without the possibility of parole.

Following a four-day trial in Hall County Superior Court, Frank Anthony "Tony" Jaworski, 42, was found guilty for the crimes of aggravated sexual battery, two counts of aggravated child molestation, aggravated sodomy, four counts of child molestation and two counts of enticing a child for indecent purposes.

Hall County District Attorney Lee Darragh said visiting Senior Judge Joseph Bishop imposed the sentence on Dec. 17, basing the sentence not only on the sexual assault case, but also on Jaworski's past criminal convictions, which dated back to 1998. Darragh said Jaworski had been convicted for first-degree burglary and entering an auto to steal in 2012, possession of methamphetamine in 2006 and 2004, motor vehicle theft and first-degree forgery in 2006, escape in 2001 and first-degree burglary in 1998.

Jaworski's mother, a co-defendant in the sexual assault case against the child, entered a guilty plea on Nov. 29 to tampering with evidence. Evidence presented at trial indicated the suspect called his mother from the jail, instructing her to destroy his cell phone. The phone had been used to take sexually explicit photos of the little girl. The jail call had been recorded.

Jaworski remained in the Hall County Jail as of Friday morning.
