Authorities on Friday released the names of the victims of a deadly plane crash that happened Thursday afternoon at the Barrow County Airport.
Shannon Ewing of Gwinnett County and his nephew, Henry Ewing of Jones County, died in the crash, according to Barrow County Sheriff's Cpt. Ryan Sears.
The crash was reported around 2 p.m., but officials said at the time that nobody witnessed the Beech aircraft go down just outside the airport on Ga. 82.
The crash did spark a small fire, which was quickly extinguished, according to Barrow EMS officials.
Sears confirmed both victims are adults.
The National Transportation Safety Board and the Federal Aviation Administration are investigating the crash.
