Former Forsyth deputy indicted for alleged sexual assault of minor

A former public information officer with the Forsyth County Sheriff's Office has been indicted for allegedly sexually assaulting a minor.

Frank Augustus Huggins, 73, of Cumming was a driving instructor at Lanier Technical College when he allegedly grabbed a female student's inner thigh while she was under his supervision, according to the indictment filed Monday in Forsyth County Superior Court.

The incident happened Sept. 8.

Huggins was indicted on charges of sexual assault of a student and sexual battery.

Police were able to verify the victim's story with video and audio captured inside the car, according to a news release at the time of Huggins' arrest Oct. 5.

He worked for the Forsyth County Sheriff's Office from 2001 to 2010.
