In an effort to bring more awareness about childhood cancer and how it is affecting families in its schools, the Hall County School District is doing a special promotion.
Each of the district's six high school football teams will wear gold, the official color of childhood cancer, as part of their uniform at a home football game in September to honor the children and families in the district who are battling cancer.
The dates for these games are as follows:
• September 9: East Hall High hosts Johnson High @ 7:30 p.m.
• September 9: North Hall High hosts Pickens County High @ 7:30 p.m.
• September 16: Flowery Branch High hosts Jefferson High @ 7:30 p.m.
• September 16: West Hall High hosts Dawson County High @ 7:30 p.m.
• September 23: Chestatee High hosts Habersham Central @ 7:30 p.m.
• September 30: Johnson High hosts Walnut Grove High @ 7:30 p.m.
The Gainesville City School system announced a week ago it, too, is participating in the monthlong campaign.
