A new supermarket proposed for Dawsonville Highway and a 65-unit town home development on South Enota Drive have received favorable staff recommendations from the Gainesville Planning Department.
As AccessWDUN reported two weeks ago, both proposals are scheduled to go before the city's Planning and Appeals Board Tuesday.
But, both recommendations come with a list of conditions.
The supermarket is planned for a tract near the Jackson EMC building. The conditions spelled out in the planning staff's recommendation for approval include: leaving an existing vegetated buffer area adjacent to Lakeshore Heights Subdivision and planting additional buffer trees.
The town homes would be constructed on 21.87 acres on South Enota near the Smoky Springs Retirement Community. The planning staff is calling for existing vegetated buffers to be left alone, that only condominiums or town homes be included on the site (no apartments), and that there be no access to the development from South Enota Drive or Woodland Way.
The planning board meets at 5:30 at the Gainesville Justice Center on Queen City Parkway.
