Authorities have testified that the two people accused of killing a pizza delivery driver from Buford stole pizza from the victim and ignored the cash that was in his pocket.

Jermaine Young, 21, and a 14-year-old boy appeared during a Gwinnett County court hearing Friday in connection with the March 1 slaying of 28-year-old Shane Varnadore.

Gwinnett County Police Detective Matthew Kenck testified that investigators who searched the suspects' Lawrenceville apartment found the handgun used in the slaying. Kenck also says they found four pizza boxes that Varnadore had been delivering to the suspects' address. He says $62 was found in Varnadore's pocket.

Young and the teenager, Reginald Lofton, are charged with felony murder, aggravated assault and armed robbery. Lofton has been charged as an adult in the case.

Kenck says both suspects blame the other for the shooting.
