Basketball: Johnson holds on to beat Chestatee

OAKWOOD -- Johnson overcame foul trouble and an early deficit to beat Chestatee 67-66 Friday night at the Johnson gym.

Chestatee (4-7) ran out to a quick lead only to have Johnson (6-3) tie the game in the second quarter. Johnson then grabbed the lead in the third quarter and held on down the stretch for the win.

Quintavious Cheek led Johnson with a season-high 19 points. Chris Henry finished with 13 points for the Knights.

Chestatee was paced by 16 points from Brandon Jovaag. Lamar Brooks added 15 and Brandon Smith had 13 for the War Eagles.

Johnson with travel to Blessed Trinity Saturday while Chestatee will play host North Hall in both teams Region 7A-AAA subregion opener.
