COMMERCE, Ga. – Commerce and Madison County went back and forth Friday night, but ultimately the Red Raiders ended up the victors by a 34-28 final.

Marco Huff got things going early for the Tigers on a 63-yard sprint down the sideline to take an early 7-0 lead, but Madison County answered at the 4:53 mark to tie the game before taking the lead right before the end of the first quarter on a 15-yard rushing score.

Madison County scored again five minutes into the second quarter to push the lead out to 20-7 before Bronc Cash scooped up a Raider fumble and scored to cut into the lead late in the first half.

After weather extended halftime, the Red Raiders found the endzone with 2:19 to play in the third, but the Tigers answered early in the fourth on a Jace Lyle 31-yard sprint, cutting the lead back down to 27-21. Madison County extended the lead back out at the 4:17 mark, but again Commerce fought back on a Lyle 1-yard push to cut the lead to 34-28 with 42 seconds to go. The onside kick bounced out of bounds and Madison County held on for the win.

The Tigers are 0-4 for just the sixth time in the history of the program and the first time since 1992. They will look for their first win of the season in two weeks at Athens Academy.
