NICHOLSON, Ga. – East Jackson had a slow start Friday night offensively but eventually found their way to a 31-0 win over White County.
After a scoreless first quarter, Drew Richardson got the Eagles on the board as he found Branturan Callahan for a 16-yard touchdown pass with just 35 seconds to play before halftime. The Eagles poured it on in the third quarter with another pass from Richardson to Callahan, this time for 54 yards and a 14-0 lead midway through the quarter.
EJ continued the scoring three minutes later as Deston Mitchell broke free for a 56-yard rushing score, followed by a Warrior muffed kickoff that set the Eagles up with a 32-yard field goal from Phillip Grey Albritton. Richardson capped the scoring early in the fourth on a 22-yard rushing score.
The Eagles are off next week, while White County opens Region 6-3A play at home against Pickens.
