CHATSWORTH, Ga. – Union County got region play started on the right foot with a 27-7 win over Murray County Friday night.
Bentley Rich and Daniel McPhee scored a combined three touchdowns on the night. Rich started off with a 5-yard rushing score in the first quarter before capping off a 99-yard drive in the third quarter with a 10-yard push. McPhee's touchdown was a 15-yard jet sweep.
After Rich's second touchdown, Murray County went on to fumble the ensuing kickoff, setting up Kamden Kendrick to find Mikey Davis for a 30-yard pitch-and-catch.
Rich finished up with 135 yards and three sacks defensively, while McPhee added three pass breakups to go with his 50 yards rushing.
The Panthers will continue region play next week at home against Rockmart.
