Gainesville Police have now confirmed the names of those involved in a deadly crash on Dawsonville Highway Friday morning.
Gainesville Police Lieutenant Kevin Holbrook said the wreck happened around 7 a.m. when a 2004 Harley Davidson motorcycle driven by Jamison Asay, age 51 of Gainesville, collided with a 1997 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck driven by Mack Collins, age 78 of Gainesville.
Asay was taken from the scene to Northeast Georgia Medical Center where he later died from his injuries. Collins was not hurt.
Police say the crash is still under investigation.

The Gainesville Police Department (GPD) said that a wreck Friday morning on Dawsonville Highway at Green Hill Circle was fatal.
Kevin Holbrook with the department told AccessWDUN that they received a call at around 7 a.m. regarding a crash between a pickup truck and a motorcycle.
During that crash, the motorcycle driver received life threatening injuries.
They were transported to Northeast Georgia Medical Center (NGMC) where they succumbed to those injuries.
Crash investigators are currently on scene to find out more details on the fatal wreck, the roadway was opened at around 9 a.m.
