A 17-year old boy was killed following a Monday morning crash on Wimpy Mill Road in Lumpkin County.

The Georgia State Patrol reported that troopers responded to the scene at 6:42 a.m. An initial investigation revealed that a 2008 Ford Mustang was traveling east on Wimpy Mill Road, negotiating a curve to the right. The Mustang traveled onto the north shoulder of the roadway and onto an embankment.

The Mustang then reportedly struck a power pole and guard rail before it overturned into a creek. The driver, Ayden James Molinari,17,  of Dahlonega was killed in the crash. A 16 year-old occupant was transported to the hospital for minor injuries.

The case remains under investigation, according to GSP.
