CLEVELAND, Ga. – In what was a turnover-riddled game, Habersham Central ended up on top of White County by a 17-3 final score Friday night.
The two teams combined for six turnovers with the Raiders committing four of them.
Habersham Central got on the board first midway through the first quarter as Donnie Warren ran in from six yards out. Warren scored again midway through the second quarter on a 21-yard scamper to double the lead.
White County answered with a Luke Bryne 25-yard field goal at the end of the first half to cut the lead to 14-3. After the turnovers reared their head in the third quarter, Camden Meads hit a 32-yard field goal at the end of the third quarter to get to the final score.
Warren finished with 118 yards rushing. The Raider defense held the Warriors to just 162 yards of offense.
The Raiders will travel to Cherokee Bluff next week, while White County will hit the road to take on East Jackson.
