The Atlanta Division of Kroger is set to break ground on its new Marketplace store in Oakwood on Sept. 3.
The new store, located at 4050 Millside Parkway, represents a $49.2 million investment in the community's capital.
“This is not just a capital investment, it’s a community investment,” Victor Smith, Kroger’s Atlanta Division president, said. “We recognize Kroger’s unique role in the communities we serve and are committed to creating positive change and delivering on our purpose to feed the human spirit.”
The 123,000 square-foot marketplace will include a Starbucks kiosk, a sushi kiosk, a Murray’s Cheese Shop, expanded household, baby, toy, and apparel departments, a full-service pharmacy with a drive-thru, online ordering with pickup services, and a fuel center.
“We are looking forward to the groundbreaking ceremony as we welcome our local officials and community partners,” Smith said. “As an employer, food processor, retailer, healthcare provider and more, we are proud to be a part of this growing community.”
The groundbreaking will take place at 9 a.m.
