Hall County's government has named a new Public Works director.
The county announced Tuesday that it has named Jorge Gomez as the new Public Works director, effective October 6. Hall County Administrator Zach Propes said Gomez has experience in the county's Public Works department.
"Jorge previously served as the assistant director of Public Works before a brief departure, and we are excited to welcome him back in this new role, as we know he will be an asset in this position," Propes said.
Gomez currently works as the Public Works Director for the city of Brookhaven in DeKalb County. Hall County officials noted that he has over 20 years of experience in engineering in both Georgia and Florida, primarily in the government sector.
Gomez will fill the role previously held by Bill Nash, who announced his resignation on August 15.
