Duluth Police recovers stolen handgun during traffic stop

The Duluth Police Department recovered a stolen handgun following a traffic stop early Monday morning. 

DPD shared in a social media post that officers conducted a traffic stop on Peachtree Industrial Boulevard just after 3 a.m. During the initial stop, officers reportedly developed probable cause to search the vehicle, leading to the discovery of the Glock Handgun with an extended magazine inside. 

The firearm was previously reported stolen out of College Park, Ga. 

The 18 year-old suspect was arrested and transported to the Gwinnett County Jail on felony charges connected to possession of the stolen firearm.
