The staff and family with Jacobs Media Corporation, parent company for AccessWDUN and their group of radio stations in northeast Georgia are mourning the loss of a longtime co-host for WDUN's Saturday morning program, "Home Matters", Steve Roper.
Steve became a part of "Home Matters" in 2018, and was a mainstay in helping local homeowners with tips on repairs, and with finding the right professional contractors for special tasks and projects. Host Craig Shoemaker paid tribute to Roper, a carpenter by trade, throughout the first hour of this Saturday's edition of the program by reflecting on his background, and the memories that were shared with listeners over the years.
Steve Roper died early Friday morning, August 22, 2025 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center Gainesville, following a lenghty illness. He was 70. Steve is survived by his wife, Jan Roper.
Future arrangements and services are entrusted with Little and Davenport Funeral Home but have not been released as of last publication. Details will be announced through AccessWDUN's obituary listing for Steve Roper, once available.
