Hall County authorities are searching for a suspect after an attempted break-in at East Hall High School this past weekend.

The Hall County Sheriff's Office said the break-in was first reported by a custodian at the school Saturday afternoon, who reportedly saw a glass door at the building shattered.

"School officials were able to provide video surveillance footage, which showed the offender attempting to pry open the door with a tool, possibly a crowbar," a release from the sheriff's office said. "The attempted break-in was recorded at 12:45 a.m. (Saturday.) In the process of trying to enter the school, the glass on the door was broken."

Hall County Schools officials said nothing was stolen from inside the school. The sheriff's office added that blood was found at the scene, which investigators believe was from the suspect possibly suffering an injury in the attempt.

Few details about the suspect are known, as his face was reportedly covered during the break-in attempt. Investigators described the suspect only as a male with a slight build.

Anyone with information on the incident is asked to contact the sheriff's office by calling 770-536-8812, extension 8, or by emailing Investigator Buffington at [email protected].
