Health fairs are not uncommon in today's world, as the advances in medical technology and and services constantly grows worldwide. A northeast Georgia county is doing what it can to keep its residents aware of what's available through a first-time event.
The Lumpkin County Sheriff's Office has posted that area health providers are coming together to give residents in the Dahlonega area an opportunity to receive services through the 1st Lumpkin County Health Fair. Sheriff Stacy Jarrard and his staff have a video with the health fair's coordinator, Dr. Aaron Tolbert from Gold City Chiropractic. They have announced that this health fair will be providing health screenings for heart health, spinal health, diabetes screenings and more important health information-free of charge-to those who attend. The 1st Annual Lumpkin County Health Fair is being held at the Lumpkin County Parks and Rec Center, located on Riley Road in Dahlonega this Saturday, August 23, between 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Corporate sponsors joining Gold City Chiropractic include Northeast Georgia Health System, BGW Dental Group, and Northside Georgia Primary Care, among others.
Sheriff Jarrard reminds the communtiy about the importance of getting regular health screenings, as he knows first hand about how they can help save lives. He says in the Facebook post that he himself learned about his own previous cancer issues during a random screening, which constantly reminds him about how important health fairs can be for everyone.
